This art box introduces kids to a prolific African American painter of the 20th century: Delilah Pierce. Throughout her career, she experimented with several different styles but was best known for her fluid style, which ranged from figurative to abstract. Her colorful compositions are inspired by nature, female equality, and her travels to Europe and Africa. As an African American, she was also a tireless advocate for civil rights. Read more
